The Art of CSCS Digital Imaging

I've been experimenting in how to express the process of my art form. Almost without exception people who see a larger canvas for the first time are amazed that they really are a photograph. Yet from a distance, it is still your first impression. The 14 month journey it took to develope this unique technique was well worth the labour of love. Last fall I challanged the head of the photography department at a community collage in Ontario to figure out what my process was, they're still working on it.

Here is the essence of my journey. In most cases when you blow up a photo it becomes less appealing as it blurs and the image softens. Clarity was my challange. A CSCS Image becomes more facinating as the image increases in size. Defined edges, enhanced contrast and then some facinating details emerge that almost always captures your imagination.

I think this poster will help to show that process better. I'm very prowd of my work and I hope you'll enjoy them.

The Winnipeg Orchid Show

Orchids

Could Orchids be the most beautiful floral family. If they aren't they would certainly rank near the very top in my books.

Orchids most certainly demonstrates mother natures greatest form of creativity. Their whimsical forms range from simple understated eloquence to near alien porportions. Each colored in liquid transparent hues that at times defy any human generated color palette. If that wasn't enough mother nature presents these florial gems to us on a single pendulous stem suspending it so as to present it like a piece of sculpture or art.

Enjoy the collage presented here and look for the addition of a gallery in the "Special Interest Gallery" coming soon.

What's your favourite flower to photograph ? Let us know.

Welcome to the CSCS Photo Tools Blog

Well here it is, the blog that I've been wanting to do for some time now.

Firstly, I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone that has put there support into the CSCS Digital Gallery Project. With out your help and encouragment CSCS Digital Gallery would not enjoy the success it has today. A special thank you goes out to all my authorized dealers across Canada. You can find the dealers list at www.comeseecomesaw.com.

Now the meat & potatoes. The intent of this bog is to have an open forum on photography. If you are a novice with your first digital camera, or the veteran that just wishes to share an opinion, everyone is welcome here.

Here are some simple rules and objectives:

  • To share ideas on any photo related issues regarding technique, hardware and or software.
  • To answer any question or comments on CSCS projects or images.
  • If you have a question on taking pictures or processing them afterwards, I will share my take on it.
  • Please lets keep our comments respectful of each other.
In closing, I hope this forum becomes insightful and a tool in your quest for that perfect shot.
